Halfway there!

Amsterdam airport 10 a.m. Almost didn't get all of us in Seattle, but when the did, Suzanne and Karen suffered for Jesus in 1st class. The rest of us suffered for him, with joy, in coach!

Specific Prayer Requests

Jambo Friends and Family,
We will soon be off to Kenya to meet up with Peter and Josephine Mburugu in Nairobi, renew acquaintances in the city and then travel to Meru (roughly 4 hours northeast) where we will spend time with our brothers and sisters at Hope International Ministry Trust and visit our sponsored children and their families.   Please pray for the Mburugus as they lay the groundwork for our visit.
As we pray together, please join us in asking for traveling mercies; smooth flights, good health, no  bureaucratic  nightmares, and a safe arrival and return. Additionally we ask that you keep us  and our escorts in prayer as we travel to and from Meru. Pray too that our hosts are in God’s care as they welcome wazungu (foreign visitors) into their villages and homes.
Please pray for us as we engage in fellowship, work and prayer with our family in Kenya; that we remain attentive to the Spirit and not get lost in the “business” of the ministry to the extent that we forget to experience the blessings of sharing in this ministry. Pray that those of us from UPPC will take note of all that our Kenyan family has to teach us about trusting God in adversity.
Pray that we reflect the goodness of God wherever we go in Kenya, that we are messengers of hope, healing and love in Jesus Christ.
Please pray that as many children as possible make it to the big event – a seminar that includes food, fun, music, worship, study, and fellowship among our sponsored kids and their families. It is a long, sometimes arduous journey for some of the families to get there.
Please pray for our families here in the states, some of whom have expressed concern about our traveling to Africa in the climate of unrest the world is currently experiencing.  Let’s all pray for peace and resolution that is in accordance with the will of God too!
Pray that our families remain in good health while we are away.
As always, we want to remember for pray for the innocents in this world who are caught in the middle of conflict brought about by others.  May the Lord have mercy on them all.
As we travel, we will attempt to make entries on this blog as often as possible. Thank you for being part of this mission.

Asante sana (thank you so much) – we go in Jesus name!
